The Embassy is also the first open by the Government of Ecuador on 1998 and I am the first Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Australia. The purpose of Ecuador to maintain its Embassy is to nurturing the true friendship between the peoples of Ecuador and Australia in all possible areas: political, economic, academic, commercial, cultural, etc.

The principal task of the Embassy is to identify all the real possibilities to increase the bilateral cooperation and to strengthen the links in the international arena in all the common positions and goals.

Today Australia and Ecuador enjoy friendly relations and from both sides there has been started some trade and cultural exchanges, but there is much to be done for the relations between Australia and Ecuador, to look towards the strength of the cooperation and to find new ways to share information about Australia and Ecuador, because it is important to improve our common knowledge and to use it to continue to build up the relationship between our two peoples.

With those purposes in mind, the Embassy of Ecuador decided to create this website. Designed to help Australians to better understand Ecuador’s history, overview, Government, economy, policies, tourist attractions and culture. The person interested could also find general information of visa and travel requirements.
